Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In the study and practice of statistical education in Japan, it has been aimed to realize statistical inquiry by using the statistical thinking model by Wild & Pfannkuch. The various qualities of students statistical inquiry activities were characterized by examining the model from the viewpoint of developing statistical inquiry skill. By analyzing the research findings so far in statistics education in Japan from the various qualities, suggestions about the learning experience necessary for developing the skill were obtained. On the other hand, in a practical aspect, the difficulty in developing the skill was suggested, but this has not been published yet, so it was left as a future task. In addition, it was clarified through a theoretical examination that the statistical inquiry handled in Japan was a narrow interpretation.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
