Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Generally, when researching slums, the focus is often on improving living conditions, such as sanitation issues, infrastructure development, and housing rights. However, to truly understand the everyday practices of people living in slums, a multifaceted perspective that includes art, anthropology, and architecture is necessary. Therefore, the research will focus on the following three points: (1) a digital video archive describing the living conditions in the slums, and (2) ethnographic videos of the life histories of slum residents, which will reveal the diachronic changes and innovations in the living environments and movements of slum residents at the bottom of Nairobi's rapidly growing economy across multiple generations up to the present. (3) Finally, the research findings will be presented as a media art exhibition.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
