Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は、走査型透過電子顕微鏡を用いた歪み計測法(STEMモアレ縞法)により、リチウムイオン濃度に依存して変化する格子変化を捉えることで、リチウムイオン電池が充放電を行っている過程におけるリチウムイオンの動きを把握することが目的である。主に、正極材料であるLiCoO2材料内や電解質との界面(電解質と接している面の方位、界面の平坦性などの依存性)でのリチウムイオンの動きを明らかにする。
本年度は、実際にオペランド観察を試みた。(1)透過型電子顕微鏡でリチウムの動きをオペランド観察するための全固体リチウムイオン電池試料の作製を試みた。この観察用試料作製では、FIBによって薄膜化したLiCoO2材料にはリチウムが抜けることなく残っていることを確認した。(2) 得られた観察試料を取り付けるためのシリコンチップを基板とした試料台の作製も行った。この試料台では、幅が2-3μmのギャップをもつ電極構造を作製することで、この電極間に得られた観察試料を取り付けられるようにした。(3)この試料台を取り付けて、通電できるようなTEMホルダーを用いて、充放電過程における構造変化の逐次的測定を試みた。
