Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The objective of this research is to conduct an experimental study and to develop numerical methods for Darcy/Navier-Stokes coupled flow, which means the flow including the well-know Darcy flow in porous media and the fluid flow in a domain purely occupied with a fluid, such as water. The achievement of the above-mentioned research is as follows: The PIV measurement of the Darcy/Navier-Stokes coupled flow was realized through laboratory experimentation, and a new numerical method for the flow, based on the variational multiscale method, was developed.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
