Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
Due to national emergencies, PHASE THREE was delayed and took place after the Olympics finished. Six international university students from non-art and design faculties participated in a seven-day rephotography workshop in September 2021 (2 days on university campus and 5 days in Kamaishi city). Photobooks (produced from previous visits to Kamaishi) were designed and used as guidebooks on location. Participants then repeated photographs on location using a variety of photomedia (digital, instant, film). During the delay, new rephotography methods were developed further with virtual tools (e.g. Google Street View). Results were shared domestically and internationally as conference papers (e.g. IVLA 2021) and exhibitions (e.g. TETTO Kamaishi Civic Gallery). Further publications will follow.
