Outline of Final Research Achievements

Basic research on Kamakura shogunate laws, such as the Goseibai-Shikimoku and additional laws, peaked in 1955 with the publication of "Historiography of Medieval Laws, Volume I: Kamakura Shogunate Laws" (Iwanami Shoten), edited by Shinichi Sato and Yoshisuke Ikeuchi. In light of the development of catalogs and digital archives, this study aimed to revisit the Kamakura Shogunate Laws and restart the study of Shogunate Laws through a bibliographic and bibliographic examination. With the research funds, we were able to visit libraries across Japan and find manuscripts that had not been used in previous studies, thereby deepening our research.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
