The paper below is published in American Economic Journal: Microeconomics in February 2020. Fighting Bundles: The Effects of Second Degree Price Discrimination joint with Andre Boik (University of California, Davis)
I have presented a working paper, Bidding for Contracts under Uncertain Demand: Skewed Bidding and Risk Sharing, at Hitotsubashi Univeristy, Osaka University, Nagoya University, University of Tokyo, etc.
As for the current working project, Bargaining with Delay in Litigation, I have collected data on medical malpractice closed claims as well as data on court caseload from Florida circuit courts. I have merged these two datasets and cleaned. I have constructed a prototype model of litigation and am trying to improve the model.

3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
既存研究に参考可能な理論モデルがなく、モデル構築に思った以上に時間を要している。情報の非対称性を入れた代表的な訴訟モデルであるSpier(1992)では訴訟当事者が訴訟後に訴えを取り下げる、又は退けられる可能性が存在しない一方、現実では多くのケースで訴えが知りぞけられる事象が観察されているため、Spier(1992)のモデルではデータとの整合性がとれない。情報の非対称性の下で訴えの取り下げの可能性を入れると均衡の特徴づけが難しくなるために難航している。

２０１９年にRand Journal of Economicsに出版されたVasserman and Yilditz(2019)では情報の非対称性を入れずにビリーフの非対称性を入れた訴訟モデルを考えている。Vassermand and Yilditz(2019)では訴訟の取り下げを簡潔な形で取り入れており、モデルをトラクタブルに保ちつつ実際の訴訟で観察されるパターンを記述している。本研究でもVassermand and Yilditz(2019)を参考に進めて行く予定である。

論文のドラフトを完成させ、国内国外での学会発表のための渡航宿泊費に使用予定。また、経済モデルを推定する上で計算能力の高いPCが必要となるため、PCを購入する可能性もある。
