Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study aimed to develop a universal music learning model based on the notion of 'body-techniques' in order to be applied to school music-classes, in which various styles of music could be utilized as learning materials. The research methods in the study were as follows: literature research, and first-hand data, collected from ethnographic fieldwork at a Japanese traditional folk arts group. Pertaining to the results, I presented two principles for music learning designing. Firstly, the study found that performance can always be a guide which propels following rehearsals, so that both should be united in a whole learning process. Secondly, a learning process should be separated into two stages, basic and advanced, to most effectively foster the abilities of students. This implies that teachers will need to consider the appropriate methods, activities, and materials for each learning stage.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
