Outline of Final Research Achievements

This research examines a specific curriculum for learning world geography that uses geographical perspectives and ways of thinking that can be applied in practical contexts, based on previous research and practical examples from an integrated framework of geography, geography pedagogy, and curriculum theory. Based on this, a unit curriculum was developed, put into practice, and verified. The effectiveness of the development framework is suggested in terms of structural understanding of perspectives and ways of thinking, converting them to the level of essential questions, and connecting each learning activity with essential questions regarding versatile views and ways of thinking.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

これまで地理的な見方・考え方を構成する概念については学術的に検討されていたが、実践文脈に援用可能な駆動や実装については検討されていなかった。また、学習指導要領の改訂により見方・考え方の駆動によるカリキュラム開発は喫緊の臨床的課題であった。本研究はこのような学術的・実践的課題に挑戦し、先行研究や実践事例を踏まえ新たな開発枠組みを提示するとともに単元モデルを開発し、その有効性を実証的に明らかにした。本研究で得られた知見は、学校現場に対するコンサルテーションや教師による開発及び省察の視点として援用が可能である。
