Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
One co-authored paper has been published in an Open Access journal. One first-author conference presentation was delivered at the annual meeting of the Volcanological Society of Japan. Data have been measured for previously collected samples from Miyakejima and Shinmoedake volcanoes, and further analyses are underway.

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
4: Progress in research has been delayed.
Reason
The progress of this research project was affected by COVID-19. Field work was restricted, laboratory analyses were delayed, and international volcanology conferences were postponed. This has affected the proposed timeline for collecting and publishing results. Extension of the grant during this year will allow the plan to be carried out.
|
Strategy for Future Research Activity |
Further sample collection, preparation and analysis will be undertaken this year. One first-author manuscript and two co-authored manuscripts will be prepared and submitted to international volcanology journals this year.
