| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The research entitled with "Effects of school-based fluoride programs in Myanmar children" has been conducted as the baseline study in October 2019, and first intervention study in February 2020.
This study is carried out in three primary schools from Yangon, Myanmar, which has been selected by Ministry of Education, Myanmar. Three schools was randomly divided into three groups, which group 1 will receive fluoride varnish with 3-month interval, group 2 will receive fluoride mouth rinse weekly and the group 3 will be control group. The study started with 265 school children aged 5-6 years old (grade 1 students)who agreed to participate in the survey by their guardians. As a baseline study, it was performed clinical oral examination, caries risk tests, questionnaire survey to guardians and oral health education. It was found that the oral health status of Myanmar children is unfavorable condition. Expansion of oral health awareness in both children and parents would be likely to improve the condition among Myanmar school children.
After 3 months from baseline study, the first intervention study was performed assessing the clinical oral examination, caries risk tests and oral health education. Four children were dropped out and the sample was 261. Currently, the study is ongoing process.

The research study is ongoing as planned schedule. As this is the collaborative work with Ministry of Education in Myanmar, it is smoothly progressing.

| Strategy for Future Research Activity |
With 3-month interval, the intervention studies will be progressed until 1 year follow-up. After data collection, it will be continued for data analysis, manuscript writing and paper publishing process, as well as academic presentation in an international conference. The information that we obtained will be kept confidential and encrypted to secure data. Further, the research data will be kept safely to maintain ethical privacy for ten years after this study.

| Causes of Carryover |
I will perform the intervention studies for three more times in FY 2020. For those purpose, I will buy the necessary equipment for oral examination, caries risk test kits, flight and transportation tickets, and also use the funds for paying the assistant in the research, article publication, paper presentation in an international conference.
