Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The data collection and analysis was completed, and now it is on the manuscript writing and publication phase. Regarding the baseline study, it was found that the oral health status of Myanmar children is unfavorable condition. Expansion of oral health awareness in both children and parents would be likely to improve the condition among Myanmar school children. I have written the epidemiological findings and submitted the manuscript to Asian Pacific Journal of Public Health. Now it is under review process. Regarding the clinical intervention study, the caries prevalence increased slightly in all groups, but no significant differences were found. Further, the differences in dt, mt, ft and dmft were not significant in the study groups at 6-month follow-up compared with the baseline. All caries risk test scores decreased from baseline to 6-month follow-up in the study groups (both plaque and saliva scores of Dentocult SM significantly decreased in Group A, while only salva score of Dentocult SM significantly decreased in Group B). On the other hand, no significant changes in any caries risk tests in Group C (control group). As a conclusion from my study, it was noted that better anti-microbial effects were obtained for children who received FV application than for those who received FMR, but no statistically significant difference existed between the anti-caries effects of these two approaches. The findings from the study has been successfully published in Oral Health and Preventive Dentistry in 2022 (Volume 20, page 165-172).

Current Status of Research Progress |
Current Status of Research Progress
3: Progress in research has been slightly delayed.
Reason
Due to COVID-19 pandemic and political situation in Myanmar, the research was slightly delayed. However, a clinical intervention manuscript was successfully published, and an epidemiological study was also submitted for their consideration of publication.

Strategy for Future Research Activity |
I have published one peer-reviewed international paper, one invited lecture and two presentations at international conference regarding with this research. Now it is under the reviewing process of another paper. I will also try to do another presentation at any international conference. The information that we obtained will be kept confidential and encrypted to secure data. Further, the research data will be kept safely to maintain ethical privacy for ten years after this study.
