電子線コンプトン散乱の時間分解反応顕微鏡の開発による物質内電子移動の可視化

Research Abstract

本研究の目的は、「電子線コンプトン散乱の時間分解反応顕微鏡」、すなわち化学反応を先導する形で起こる物質内電子の運動の変化ないしは過渡系電子波動関数が運動量空間において時間発展する様をスナップショット的に観察する手法の開発である。具体的には、ポンプパルスレーザーにより単分子を励起した後、ポンプレーザーからの遅延時間の関数として緩和途中の過渡系に極短パルス電子線を照射し、電子線コンプトン散乱で生成した非弾性散乱電子・電離電子・解離イオンの3つの荷電粒子間のベクトル(エネルギーと角度)相関から過渡系の物質内電子運動量分布を得る。
上記の目的に向けて、本研究計画2年度目の今年度は、真空チェンバーを設計・製作し、排気ポンプを購入した。ポンプパルスレーザー、極短パルス電子線、標的分子線、電子エネルギー分光器、およびイオン分光器の5つのアライメントを容易にするため、真空チャンバーは箱型とし、また数値制御の切削機械で削りだして製作した。これらを前年度に整備した電子用およびイオン用二次元検出器と組み合わせることにより、時間分解電子線コンプトン散乱真空チェンバーの基礎の構築に成功した。一方で、フェムト秒レーザーを購入し、ポンプパルスレーザーや極短パルス電子線の励起源の整備を図った。
以上の今年度までの研究成果を踏まえて引き続き次年度も試作ないしは開発を必要とする設備を整備を続け、次年度末に時間分解電子線コンプトン散乱の時間分解反応顕微鏡装置をシステムとして完成させる予定である。
