Research Abstract

(1)G2全光論理ゲートデバイス 昨年度に引き続き,InPフェーズドアレイ型マトリックス光スイッチの開発を行い,1x16のスイッチ規模を実現した.試作された光スイッチを用いて,光ラベルによる160Gbps RZ-OOKパケットおよび10Gbpsx12波長DPSKパケットの1x16スイッチング実証実験を行い,前者は0.7dB,後者は0.6dBの僅かなパワーペナルティしかないエラーフリー動作を得た.並行して同光スイッチを適用したOPS/OCS混在光ルーティング実験を行い,所期の特性を実証した.さらに,同光スイッチと超小型コイルファイバーを組み合わせ実用的な全光バッファーを世界で初めて開発することに成功し,OFCポストデッドライン論文として採択されるに至った.
(2)G2全光フリップフロップデバイス 昨年度開発に着手した分布ブラッグ反射鏡(DBR)とマッハツェンダー干渉計(MZI)型BLDを組み合わせた新たな全光フリップフロップ素子を完成し,動作波長範囲として58nmを得た.次に動特性を評価し,2.5pJの入力光パルスに対し,夫々319ps以下,68ps以下の立ち上がり/立ち下がり時間を得た.素子性能の限界を知るため,結合レート方程式によるモデリングと動特性シミュレーションを行った.さらに,同素子に光クロック信号を入力するDポートを付加することに着手し,初期的ながら,クロック信号に同期したフリップフロップ出力を得ることに成功した.
(3)G2非相反光デバイス 非相反位相シフト型光デバイスを実現するに必須の導波路型偏光回転素子を研究した.非対称リッジ導波路という従来にない簡便な構造を発明し,シミュレーションで特性予測を行った後,同素子を実際に作製して,偏光回転の原理動作を確認した.
(4)デジタル光集積回路の開発 昨年度開発を終えた多モード干渉(MMI)型全光フリップフロップと,半導体光アンプ(SOA)-MZI型全光スイッチをモノリシック集積化したワンチップ全光パケット処理回路を試作.10Gbps,40Gbpsの単一波長光パケットと,160Gbpsの多波長光パケットを試作光集積回路で実際にルーティングし,全てのデータレートでエラーフリー動作を達成した.これより,全光ルーティング集積回路のデータレートおよび波長に対する透明性が実証された.
