探査機「かぐや」による月重力・測地マッピングと月二分性の起源

Research Abstract

「かぐや」の重力データを高精度にするため、JAXA,国立天文台や海外局の電波望遠鏡を使った衛星観測により軌道決定を行い、月の高精度重力データを取得する。そのために国立天文台の既存の計算機システムを使い、VLBIデータの相関処理を行い、衛星の位置を決定する。さらに「かぐや」搭載レーザ高度計により詳細地形データを取得する。この両者を合わせることで、これまでよりも精度がβ高いブーゲ重力異常分布を求め、月地殻厚さマップを作成することを目標としている。
本年度は、「かぐや」が月面に衝突した昨年度までに取得したデータの解析を継続した。本経費で雇用した研究員が主体となって、相関処理を終えた基本観測(同一ビーム、スィッチング)期間のVLBIデータを、重力場モデルに取り込み、新たな重力場モデルSGM100iを作成した。さらに本経費で半年間雇用した、研究支援員により、単独衛星データ、主衛星データ、国際基線データなど、残っていたVLBIデータの相関処理を進めた。VLBIデータを入れない場合と比較すると軌道決定精度が大きく向上して、低次重力場や潮汐ラブ数の値などに改善が見られた。また、球面調和関数のデータ解析にフィルターを加えることで、特定地域について詳細な重力場モデルを取得できる方法を確立して、南極エイトケン盆地に適用した。重力データと地形データから求めた月地殻厚さデータから衝突盆地の内部構造を解析した。月面で最も地殻厚さが薄い場所であるモスクワの海は、複数回の衝突により形成された可能性が高い。南極エイトケン盆地の中心部においても、25キロメートルよりも厚い地殻が存在して、マントル物質の大規模な露出は考えにくい。これは、かぐやの分光データとも調和的である。
