Research Abstract

モホの岩石学的実体を明らかにし,その形成過程を解読することを目的とする。そのために,海洋底,島弧での物性的な不連続面を形成していると思われるガブロ(マフィック岩)/かんらん岩,および蛇紋岩/かんらん岩境界の実体およびそれらの形成の岩石学的過程を理解する。
(2)海洋底を理解するために,オフィオライトにおけるこれらの境界,特にガブロ/かんらん岩境界の多様性と形成過程を詳しく検討する。
(2)島弧では,マフィック～超マフィック捕獲岩(特にそれらの複合捕獲岩)を用いてガブロ(マフィック・グラニュライト)と超マフィック岩の境界の成因を明らかにする。
(3)オフィオライトのモホ～最上部マントル部に産するクロミタイトという岩石のマントル・ダイナミクスの指示者としての重要性を検討する。この指標はモホ形成などの海嶺過程を理解する上で極めて重要である。
