Research Abstract

近年π電子系化合物は分子エレクトロニクス素子や単一分子デバイスをはじめ、磁気的、光学的機能材料としても注目され、基礎および応用研究が精力的に展開されている。次世代を切り拓く革新的な電子・光・磁気機能を有する物質の創出を図るため、本研究では磁性内包フラーレンに着目し、その分子変換による構造および電子特性の制御を行う。さらに、得られた常磁性内包フラーレン誘導体の組織化を行い、革新的バルク機能を有する材料の創製を目的としている。
本年度は、先ず金属内包フラーレンLa@C82およびLa2@C80をアーク放電により大量に合成し、得られた煤抽出物のHPLC分離により精製を行った。次に合成した金属内包フラーレンについて、カルベン付加反応を用いた機能性置換基の導入を検討した。上記金属内包フラーレンのうち、La@C82は対称性が低いため高位置選択的な付加反応を開発する必要がある。これに対し求電子的なカルベンがLa@C82へ位置選択的に付加することを見いだし、この反応はC82ケージの電子状態とπ電子系曲面の歪みが重要な役割を果たしていることを明らかにした。
