光による半導体粒子の形状異方性制御とエネルギー変換材料への応用

Research Abstract

異方性形状をもつZnOロッド粒子は、粒子内部に電子キャリアのトラップサイトとなる粒界が無く、増感型太陽電池の多孔質電極基板として有望な材料である。一方、半導体ナノ粒子のサイズは数nmと、従来の増感色素分子よりも非常に大きいために、用いる多孔質電極の細孔サイズが小さい場合には、ナノ粒子が電極に担持されない。そこで本研究では、テンプレートとして2次元ポリスチレンビーズアレイを用いて、粒子の形状およびその配列規則性が制御されたZnOナノロッド粒子固定化電極を作製し、ZnOナノロッド粒子間距離の自在制御を目指した。
粒径1.5μmのポリスチレンビーズからなる2次元コロイド結晶を、電極基板上に積層した。これを、硝酸亜鉛とヘキサメチレンテトラミンを含む水溶液に浸漬し、90℃で1.5時間加熱することにより基板上にZnOナノロッドを析出させた。この析出操作を繰り返すことによってZnOナノロッドのサイズを制御した。テンプレートとして用いたポリスチレンビーズはクロロホルムにより溶解・除去した。
ZnOナノロッドは、ウルツ鉱型ZnOのc軸方向に異方的に成長し、基板からほぼ垂直に成長した。この基板のSEM観察から、結晶成長操作1回では,ほとんどロッド形状粒子がみられないのに対し,結晶成長操作を3回行ったものでは幅100nm、長さ1000nm程度のロッド形状ZnO粒子が観察された。ZnOナノロッドの配列はテンプレートとして用いたコロイド結晶の形状を転写し、コロイド結晶の空隙に選択的にナノロッドが成長していた。
以上のことから、ZnOナノロッドのサイズは結晶成長操作回数によって制御でき、さらに成長したZnOナノロッドの配列規則性は、テンプレートとして用いるコロイド結晶により制御できることがわかった。
