Research Abstract |
The Yamaguni area in the province of Tanba was intimately related to the Imperial Family during the medieval and early modern periods. So, we made a diachronic study of this area from the Muromachi period to the Meiji restoration. The focus of this study is on the following two topics: 1.For the peasants, what was the significance of the existence of tenno? 2.How did they take advantage of tenno to establish their public order?
