Research Abstract |
We defined" function-hierarchical material" as a system in which each level of the hierarchical structured material interplays with each other to express a novel function. We explored the function-hierarchical system by using unique reaction fields such as ultra high vacuum or high pressure conditions. We could design some function-hierarchal systems : the nanocomposite of TiO_2 or Pd particles surrounded by mesoporous silica, high pressure or thin film synthesis of superconducting or antiferromagnetic nitrides, in which surface or interfaces play an important role to realize their functions.
