Research Abstract

本研究では、植物が乾燥環境適応戦略として獲得した根の水分屈性を制御する分子の同定と機能解析を行い、それら分子のネットワーク機構を明らかにし、これまでに未知であった水分勾配感受とそのシグナル伝達に関するモデルを構築することを目的としている。そのために本研究では、これまでに同定した水分屈性に必須且つ特異的な制御分子であるMIZ1の機能とともに、MIZ2が支配する水分屈性に特異的な小胞輸送系を明らかにする研究を行っている。また、miz1およびmiz2に加えて、これまでに単離することに成功した水分屈性欠損突然変異体miz3の変異原因遺伝子の同定を行うとともに、新規の水分屈性突然変異体を単離し、それらの変異原因遺伝子を同定し、それらがコードするタンパク質の機能を明らかにするための研究を行っている。さらに、これら水分屈性制御分子間の関係を解析することによって、根が水分勾配を感受して伸長方向を決定するまでの分子機構の全体像を明らかにするための基盤研究を行っている。
