Research Abstract

植物の独立栄養機能を分子レベルで理解してその制御機構を解明する研究は、ポストゲノムやプロテオミクス時代の基礎植物科学の重要課題であると認識されている。本研究は、光合成の同化機能を司る酵素・蛋白質群の構造・機能研究の知見を植物個体レベルに適用して、プラスチドのレドックス代謝の制御機構を明らかにすることを目指している。本研究がスタートして3年間の問に、炭素・窒素・硫黄の無機物同化の代謝ネットワークの酵素群と電子キャリアーの構造を基盤に、新しい分子装置のinvitroでの機能評価と各種形質転換植物を作出してきた。最終年度は引き続いてこの構造・機能情報を深化させると共に、取得した代謝系の駆動状況を解析し生理的状況下での作動原理を明らかにする。これらのレドックス代謝の基礎と応用の両側面を視野に入れて本研究課題をまとめる。
