| Research Abstract |
日本サイドの研究:平成17年より、鳳総合健診センターにて人間ドックを受診した受診者で主に男性を対象としたCTによる腹部内臓脂肪の測定を含めた前向きコホート研究を立ち上げた。今回の目的は本コホート研究を女性に拡大させることである。平成22年度までに、約1600名(男性1000名、女性600名)の登録を行った。平成22年度は、論文発表として(1)Visceral adiposity, not abdominal subcutaneous fat area, is associated with high blood pressure in Japanese men : the Ohtori study(Hypertens Res. 2011 Jan 13. [Epub ahead of print])を報告した。この論文は、CT撮影よる腹部内臓脂肪が、腹部皮下脂肪や全身の皮下脂肪とは独立に高血圧症に関連し、腹部内臓脂肪を考慮すると、腹部皮下脂肪や全身の皮下脂肪は高血圧症に関連しないという結果であった。この内容は米国日系人糖尿病研究の先行報告(Circulation. 2003 Oct 7 ; 108(14) : 1718-23.)と一致する結果であった。さらに、(2)Relationship between drinking patterns and the risk of type 2 diabetes(J Epidemiol Community Health. 2010 Dec3. [Epub ahead of print])、(3)Blood pressure components and risk for chronic kidney disease in middle-aged Japanese men(Hypertens Res. 2011 Apr ; 34(4) : 536-41.Epub 2011 Jan 27)を論文発表した。
アメリカ糖尿病学会にて(1)Independent Association of Adiponectin and Leptin with Both Abdominal Visceral and Subcutaneous Adiposity(2)Higher Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate Is a New Risk Factor of Type 2 Diabetesの発表を行った。
米国日系人糖尿病の研究:2010年度は以下の演題をアメリカ糖尿病学会にて発表した。
(1) Late Phase Insulin Response during the Oral Glucose Tolerance Test Predicts Risk of Type 2 Diabetes.
