Research Abstract |
We concluded that differences of free radical scavenger and autophagy between individuals can determine inner ear homeostasis. OGG (free radical scavenger gene) KO mice exposed to acoustic trauma demonstrated more hair cells damages compared to wild type mice as control. Autophagy 7 conditional knockout mice presented stereocilia loss. It may suggest that autophagy is critical factor for maintaining hair cells. One study is still ongoing research regarding functional and morphological analysis of TBL-1 KO mice which we proposed as presbycusis mice model
