Research Abstract |
The pattern of breakaway and evolution from state socialism has been diverse among China, the former Soviet Union and Central-Eastern European countries. Russia could have the state capacity to carry out the transformation to capitalism in the 2000s, although the country lacked it in the 1990s. China and Slovenia have adopted the gradual transformation strategy toward capitalism with state capacity for implementing it. In the Visegrad and Baltic states, the dependent capitalism on the foreign capitals has emerged that have led by their states. Bulgaria and Romania follows the transformation pattern in Visegrad and Baltic states.
