Research Abstract |
The vibration sense threshold was decreased after the low-frequency electrical stimulation to paretic upper limb or repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to unaffected motor cortex in stroke patients with sensory disturbance. Visualanalogue scale was improved after rTMS to affected motor cortex in stroke patients with thalamic pain. These results indicate that stimulation of peripheral nerve and cerebral cortex improves the sensory disturbance and thalamic pain.
