Research Abstract |
Using the ultrasonic imaging to observe the human carpal tunnel, we could assess the excursion of the median nerve relative to finger flexor tendon motion. Especially, the excursion of the median nerve is most influenced during index finger and middle finger flexor tendon motion .So; we suppose that the fixation for not only the wrist joint but also the index finger and middle finger raise the validity of splint therapy in CTS. The splinting for carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is reduced a pressure and tenosynovitis in carpal tunnel and decompressed on the median nerve at the wrist. In this study ,we examined the influence of the wrist position on the excursion of median nerve during index finger and middle finger flexor tendon motion ,but there was no significant difference.
