| Research Abstract |
本研究は、地域的には北アイルランド(ないしアルスター地方)を、時代的には20世紀から現在まで、とくに北アイルランド紛争が始まった1960年代後半以降を中心的に扱う。題目を「詩的想像力」とするのは、研究対象を文学作品に限定せず、北アイルランド住民の民衆的想像力をも広く視野に入れるからである。具体的には詩作品以外に、プロテスタントとカトリックという宗派ごとに分断されたコミュニティに見られるミューラル(政治的主張をもつ壁絵)やグラフィティ(政治的主張をもつ言葉)、あるいは各コミュニティで歌われるソング(伝承歌など)なども研究対象とする。
