Research Abstract |
This inquiry was intended to explore theoretically and positively what perspectives we should take in establishing 'the norms concerning human life and death,' especially its isntitutionalisation. It did research on the characteristics of Euro-American and East-Asian bioethical norms, exploring the principles in bioethical norms which are properly accepted in Japanese culture. It ended with the confirmation that in establishing properly bioethical norms we need the integrative perspective combining the universal parts which underlie both the Euro-American and East-Asian type of norms, and the local ones which reflect East-Asian and Japanese cultures respectively.
