Research Abstract

ペロフスカイト構造(ABO3型)及びその関連の類似構造をもつ酸化物は、誘電体から電気伝導体さらに超伝導体に至るまで幅広く存在し興味深い物性を示す。そして酸素八面体の積層構造を変化させると、強誘電性でも超伝導性でも類似した構造のところで転移点が高くなったり構造相転移の相境界近傍で応用上の有用な特性が見つかったりする。そのため酸素八面体の積層構造に特有のフォノンが特異な物性の発現に大事な役割を担っていて、種々の相転移をもたらす量子ゆらぎの正体が重要な鍵を握っていると考えられる。そこで、現在の物性物理が抱えるテーマの中で応用上そのメカニズムの早期解明が望まれる3つのサブテーマを掲げ、ペロフスカイト型とその変形である類似構造をもつ酸化物において、相転移点近傍の量子ゆらぎを理論的に解き明かし、応用に繋がる物性を開発する。
