Research Abstract |
We have constructed an ab initio calculation of the radiation field to evaluate, in particular, the photon local density of states. Not only electric dipole transitions, but also magnetic dipole transitions are taken into account. We particularly have focused on one-dimensional photonic wire structures, and have analyzed their optical properties in detail. Besides, we have proposed optical waveguides that are robust against disorder and decoherence, owing their topological nature.
