Research Abstract |
Vacuum arcs become unstable with decreasing arc current and are hard to sustain for long periods. In this study, magnets are arranged inside and back side of both electrodes. Under strong magnetic field, anode spot is generated even at low current and is effective for sustaining low current arcs.
