Research Abstract |
We previously identified the new protein IκB-ζ, which binds to NF-κB in the nucleus. IκB-ζ is essential for expression of a group of NF-κB-regulated genes. In the present study, we attempted to elucidate mode of action for IκB-ζ in transcriptional up-regulation of target genes using the knockout cells and the cells in which IκB-ζ expression can be artificially induced by zinc. We revealed that IκB-ζ is necessary for association of NF-κB with the target promoters.
