Research Abstract |
Using high-density oligonucleotide microarrays, we investigated DNA copy-number aberrations in hepatocellular carcinomas and detected a novel amplification at 17p11. Our results suggest that the ERK5 gene is the target of 17p11 amplification and that the ERK5 promotes the growth of hepatocellular carcinoma cells by regulating mitotic entry.
