Research Abstract |
The G1 Cyclin CnCln1 gene, a key molecule in the cell cycle control in a pathogenic yeast, Cryptococcus neoformans, was cloned, identified and characterized. Interaction between cell cycle control and stress (hypoxia) response was analyzed. Also, localization of triosephosphate isomerase, the molecules responsible for contact-mediated killing of Cryptococcus, on the surface of Staphylococcus was demonstrated by scanning immunoelectron microscopy.
