| Research Abstract |
We identified a gene encoding selenoprotein P (SeP), the hepatic expression levels of which were positively correlated with insulin resistance and hyperglycemia in patients with type 2 diabetes. SeP caused insulin resistance, at least partly, by inactivating AMPK both in vitro and in vivo.
