Research Abstract |
Hemidesmosomes (HDs) are protein complexes connecting epidermal basal cells to underlying basement membranes. The present study describes, for the first time, a method to prepare a fraction highly enriched with HD proteins from human material. Mass spectrometry and immunoblotting analyses demonstrated that the fraction contained newly identified proteins in addition to known HD components.
