Research Abstract |
We simultaneously examined plasma OPN levels and 17 cytokines. In UC patients, significant relationships were observed between plasma OPN levels and cytokines including IL-1β, IL-4, IL-5, IL-6, IL-7, IL-13, IFN-γ, TNF-α and GM-CSF. In the CD patients, we observed a remarkable correlation solely between OPN and IL-8. In conclusion, we posit the importance of OPN in reflecting the distinct pathophysiologies of UC and CD.
