Research Abstract |
We examined mechanisms of antinociceptive effects of drugs such as antidepressant and gabapentin for neuropathic pain using rat pain models. We also measured spinal noradrenalin and serotonin level after the drug injection using microdialysis. We demonstrated that these drugs increased noradrenalin level in the spinal cord and the noradrenalin increase strongly contributed to the inhibitory effect for neuropathic pain.
