ナノ印刷技術による伸縮自在な大面積シート集積回路

Research Abstract

本課題では、ナノ微細化された有機トランジスタと伸縮性の配線を集積化し、曲げても引っ張っても壊れない伸縮自在で丈夫な大面積シート集積回路を試作することを目的としている。さらに、有機トランジスタとシリコンLSIを融合し、大面積シート集積回路の設計と製造技術を確立することを目的としている。
今年度、伸縮基板材料の最適化、伸縮導体と基板材料の密着性の向上、さらに長尺のナノチューブを活用し、伸縮率150%の大面積シート集積回路を作製を行った。さらにこの伸縮基板を用いて1MHzの周波数応答を持つ有機トランジスタの性能を生かすために、伸縮導体の低抵抗化を実施した。さらに、伸縮エレクトロニクスの学理を深めるために伸縮性カーボンナノチューブの伝導機構の解明をめざし、機械的特性と伸縮特性、材料の密着を高性能に評価できる計測系を確立することに成功した。
より具体的には、有機半導体と金属電極の界面における伝導については多くの研究がされており、従来のバンド理論に基づく伝導現象として理解されている。一方で今回のように、形状が変化する導電性ゴムや導電性ゲルと金属電極との界面では、物質間のキャリア授受に伴う酸化還元現象や電気泳動現象などを伴う伝導機構が関係し、従来の界面とは異なる物性を示すと考えられる。このような新規の界面における伝導を、試料水平型X線回折装置や電気化学計測手法を用いて詳細に調べ、伸縮性材料のデバイス物理をミクロな界面現象から、マクロな材料の機械的強度まで評価することが出来た。また、自己組織化膜を用いることで金属-金属界面に近いオーミック界面を、伸縮材料においても実現し、伸縮性エレクトロニクスの高性能化に繋げる新しい材料物性を解明することが出来た。

Reason

当初目標である大面積な伸縮性エレクトロニクスシートの試作を実施するだけでなく、伸縮材料で課題であった伸縮時の信頼性を、各界面において有効な材料ナノ物性制御を見出し、独自の新たな切り口で解決することが出来た。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

この伸縮エレクトロニクスの信頼性を実用化レベルまで向上させ、生体の表明に貼り付けることのできるセンサを実現する予定である。この際、各センサセルを1mmまで微細化し高精細で高感度な伸縮センサシートを実現する。
