Research Abstract |
Highly corrosion-resistant Mg-Zn-rare earth (RE) alloys with long period stacking ordered phase have been developed by microstructure control through the rapid solidification and thermo-mechanical treatment. Enhancement of microstructural and electrochemical homogeneities in the Mg-Zn-RE alloys by rapid solidification techniques results in the passivity of substrate materials.
