Research Abstract

植物は自然免疫を多層的に発達させ、互いに連携したネットワークとして病原微生物に対抗していることが明らかになりつつある。ウイルスに対してもこのような防御ネットワークが発達していることが想定されているが現在の知見ではうまく説明できない。本研究でタバコのカルモジュリン様タンパクrgs-CaMを介した未知の防御機構がRNAサイレンシングや他の防御機構と連携してウイルスに対する防御ネットワークを形成していることを明らかにする。
