| Research Abstract |
水域生態系において、ウィルス感染は生物の重要な死亡要因となっている。本研究では、ウィルスの粒子吸着過程に着目し、懸濁物質がウィルスの生残性と感染に与える影響を室内実験、および野外調査にて明らかにすることにより、水域生態系において懸濁物質がウィルスの動態に与える影響を検証しようというものである。
本研究では、懸濁物質がウィルスによる動態に与える影響を評価するために、環境中での動態追跡が可能な既知のコイヘルペスウイルス(KHV)およびλファージをモデルウィルスとして用い、以下の点を明らかにすることを目的とした。
(1)懸濁物質からのウィルス検出法の開発
(2)環境中の懸濁物質画分へのウィルスの分布の解明を行うことでウィルスを吸着させる物質を特定し、
(3)それらの懸濁物質がウィルスの生残性に与える影響
(4)pHの変化が懸濁物質からのウィルスの遊離に与える影響
を明らかにする。最終的には、懸濁物質がウィルスの生残の場となり、水質の変化がウィルスを遊離させ、感染源となる可能性を検証することができる。
