Research Abstract

ビスマス系高温超伝導体を用いた固有ジョセブソン接合(接合数30)により、ジョセフソン磁束量子フロー現象へのラチェット効果を実証した。磁束量子は、大きな接合電流により、素子を超伝導遷移温度付近に加熱下債に自己磁場効果で導入されるものを利用した。ラチェットはリング状の接合に20個の非対称の歯車状の歯をつけたものである。磁束量子と歯の端面とが平行になると大きな抵抗を生じるが、適当な角度がある場合は磁束量子とエッジの不一致でエッジ効果は小さい。時計回りと反時計回りとで、歯の端面と磁束量子の方向(リングの円周方向)との角度が非対称になるように素子を設計した。整流効果は、12GHz交流電流入力に対し、磁束フロー電圧の差として100μVに達した。接合間の結合効果を理解するために、2次元結合サイン・ゴードン方程式によるシミュレーションを実施した。さらに、低温レーザー顕微鏡により、接合の観察を行ったところ、ラチェット効果が発現する磁束フロー状態では、磁束が歯の付近に滞在するのに対し、準粒子電圧状態では高速で運動して歯の効果が現れないことが明らかになった。以上、直接観察によっても、実際に整流効果が磁束の運動状態と一致していることを証明した。シミュレーション結果は、位相速度が、電磁波の媒質中速度に到達したことを示唆している。本研究課題提案「非接触ギヤ」は有望な研究テーマであるので、今後も引き続き展開していきたい。
