Research Abstract |
Nonlinear Magnetohydrodynamic(MHD) simulations have been executed for a comprehensive modeling of collapse phenomena in toroidal plasmas. The edge-localized mode(ELM) in spherical tokamak, the core density collapse(CDC) in heliotron, and the helical structure formation in reversed-field pinch(RFP) have been examined, comparing with experimental observations. Several common natures such as the magnetic reconnections under the pressure gradient which cause three-dimensional relaxed structures have been found out.
