Research Abstract |
This study aimed to enhance grain yield under newly developed water-saving rice cultivation, namely 'aerobic rice culture'. While reducing the water input to the paddy field by over 50%, attainable rice yield in aerobic culture was comparable to that in conventional flooded culture(>10t/ha). However, this water-saving cultivation was more likely to induce plant internal water deficit as it considerably restricted the root system development.
