Research Abstract |
We newly found that angiotensin system which is a main regulator of blood pressure participate in anti-opioid activity and morphine tolerance suppression in mice. Anti-opioid activity of angiotensin II is mediated by the AT2 receptor followed by prostaglandin E2 and the EP3 receptor. Morphine tolerance suppressive activity of angiotensin II is mediated by both of the AT1 and AT2 receptors. These results are meaningful in the point that suggests the involvement of angiotensin system in other central actions.
