Research Abstract

FTY720(a high-affinity agonist for sphingosine 1-phosphate receptors) administration suppressed the progression of laminarin-induced arthritis in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) model of SKG mice. FTY720 can inhibit arthritis in SKG mice via sequestration of autoimmune CD4^+ T cells in the thymus, enhancement of Th2 immune responses, and inhibition of PGE_2 production by synovial cells.
