Research Abstract |
In the present study, to elucidate the effects of extracorporeal circulation in open heart surgery on the immune system, I focused on the function of lymphocytes and examined the changes in the ability of lymphocyte blastoid transformation. After the treatment with Phytohemagglutinin(PHA), ability of lastoid transformation in contact with the extracorporeal circulation circuit with membrane oxygenator was lower than the ability in contact with extracorporeal circulation circuit without membrane oxygenator. There was no significant difference of the ability between the closed extracorporeal circulation circuit and the opened extracorporeal circulation circuit. And there was no significant difference of the ability between the extracorporeal circulation circuit without oxygenator gas and the extracorporeal circulation circuit with oxygenator gas too.
