Research Abstract |
In primates, the prefrontal cortex is critically involved in higher cognitive functions such as working memory, temporal organization of behavior, and decision making. Working memory is defined as the ability to hold information to guide prospective behavior. We investigated roles of the rat prefrontal cortex in the monitoring of working memory to evaluate executive function in rodents.
